The Value of Film School

Check out this interesting blog post from the ScriptJournal on the value of attending film school for screenwriting. Margaret Dunlap is a television writer and writers’ assistant. She earned an MFA in Writing for the Screen and Television from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and a B.A. from Simon’s Rock College of Bard. Every day on the job, she learns even more.
"Look at the pool of working TV writers today and you’ll find people with B.A.s and M.F.A.s from big name screenwriting programs, people with degrees in fields you’d never think would lead to a writing career from schools ranging from the famous to the obscure, and even a rare few who haven’t set foot in a classroom since they left high school."
